AMELIA LARSON

Amelia, born in Almaty, Kazakhstan and raised in Granville, Ohio is a New York based dancer. She earned her BFA at the University of the Arts in 2022 and is a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship for Dance Performance. She began her dance studies at age seven at BalletMet academy in Columbus, Ohio. At age 15, Amelia became a ballet trainee at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City. She then transferred to the Vassiliev Ballet Academy in New York City as a member of the International Training Company, completing her studies in 2018. She next enrolled at The University of the Arts, notably studying under Donna Faye Burchfield. Amelia is now a Freelance dancer, choreographer, and creative director in NYC. She has performed works by Sidra Bell, Doug Varone, Bret Easterling, Helene Simoneau, Mark Caserta, Juel D. Lane, Andrea Miller and more. She recently has choreographed and directed two dance films. “Meta” created at the end of the summer ‘24 and “Court” created in September ‘24. She presented “Dawn” at the Modern Moves Dance Series in NYC. This past January she also presented “AURA” at Arts on Site, and is now in process of a new work to be presented this April at the New Wave Dance Festival.
