AMELIA LARSON

Amelia is a New York–based movement artist, choreographer, and creative director, born in Almaty, Kazakhstan. She earned her BFA in Dance from the University of the Arts in 2022, where she was a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship for Dance Performance and studied under Donna Faye Burchfield. Amelia began her formal dance training at age seven at BalletMet Academy in Columbus, Ohio, later becoming a ballet trainee at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City at fifteen. She continued her studies at the Vassiliev Ballet Academy as a member of the International Training Company, completing her training in 2018.

Now working as a freelance artist in NYC, Amelia has performed works by Sidra Bell, Doug Varone, Bret Easterling, Helene Simoneau, Mark Caserta, Juel D. Lane, Andrea Miller, and others. Her performance and choreographic credits include Alexis Bittar’s 2024 New York Fashion Week presentation; Dawn, presented at the Alvin Ailey Studios as part of a choreographic festival; work presented at Arts On Site, including Aura; and original dance films Meta, Court, and Alchemy. She was a fellow choreographer with Next Fest 2025, presenting live work with orchestra, and has served as movement director for Somada Labs. She is currently in process with fellow New York–based artists, with additional works premiering this spring.
